The Queen's Gambit

2022 - Mobile

Working on a Netflix mobile game about chess as
someone who had previously not played any chess was equal parts dream and challenge.

​

Notable Responsibilities:

  • Designed and implemented over 800 unique chess puzzles

  • Implemented analytics

  • Designed "How Harmon Are You", a feature that tracked your chess play-style using simple to track chess features

  • Lead accessibility, notably colourblind options, throughout design

2016 - Mobile

This was my first mobile game working with a team! I programmed and designed this game in Unity, seeing it through to publication with Shelf.

Chess Infinity

2024 - Console & PC

This project I worked on while doing prototypes for projects under NDA, a lot of my work on Chess Infinity reflected more of a Junior Programmer position.

  • Lay foundations for Analytics Implementation

  • Create puzzle shortcuts for devs
  • Maintaining and updating the Confluence pages

This was my introduction to Ripstone's design ethos. Here I learnt many of the foundational elements of what would become my design style.

Shelf Projects

Being a part of Shelf has allowed me to hone my craft and keep my passion for games.

Having an idea of something small but interesting & emotionally packed, and then fleshing it out with the team has been a valuable learning experience in making strange and interesting games as a team.

Having started with such a small team from the outset, scope management and playing to a team's strengths and desired growth areas has been a concept I've gotten a lot of experience with over the years.

My entire career, I've excellend and thrived at creating prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of systems, game concepts, mechanics, or sometimes economies.

These prototypes have spanned most common platforms. Notably VR, Consoles, PC, & Mobile.
